Freesat software update causes problems for viewers   - Thursday, October 22, 2009

The recent Freesat software update has caused some problems for the owners of Bush, Grundig and Goodmans Freesat set top boxes.

The three set top boxes come under the Harvard International brand.

The company launched a software update that should have reorganised the equipments’ channel list, but instead of updating the set top boxes, the update appears to have caused some technical issues, some so serious that the box will not switch on.

Other problems include loss of sound, satellite signal, picture and repeated set top box reboots.

It is not yet known exactly how many users have been affected by this problem but, according to Harvard International, the number is in the low hundreds.

The company claims that the problem will be sorted out within a few days following a software fix.
