When adding a multiswitch to your TV distribution system, so that you can have a freesat signal available at each TV point around your home, you ideally need to use two runs of satellite quality co-ax cable. In an existing arrangement it is not easy to add this second run of cable so you need to send both the satellite (freesat) signal from the multiswitch and the existing terrestrial TV signal over the same run of co-ax. The combination of a Global Loftbox Expander at the TV distribution amp/multiswitch location and a Global DIP2-DC Diplexer allows you to do this.
The Global DIP2-DC Diplexer has high isolation to prevent the satellite LNB noise interfering with the terrestrial signals or harmonics of the terrestrial signals. For systems using a Global Sky tvLINK relay device powered through the coax, the Global DIP2-DC should be used. This supplies a 12V, 100mA max supply to the terrestrial input, ie to power any Global tvLINK IR receiver. The current for both the satellite LNB and the tvLINK is supplied by the satellite receiver.
Although the Global DIP2-DC is designed for the harsh outside environment, when used internally in this arrangement the external plastic box is not necessary and may be removed.
