If you are one of the unlucky Virgin Media customers who lost all your Sky basic channels when the two behemoths failed to agree terms way back in February 2007, chances are you have been counting the days until both Sky and Virgin Media decided to sit down and talk through their respective problems.
Well, prepare your expressions of relief as there appears to be hope that the services could be restored. Teams on both sides have started talking to each other, and we can only assume that they are looking for a solution which saves face for all sides, and restores services to viewers.
As both businesses need to be focusing their attentions on their core business, namely their TV channels and improving the output on them, there can be little doubt that the year-long dispute has been an unwanted diversion for all.
