New Ofcom directors to help with switchover   - Monday, January 7, 2008

Tim Gardam, a former director of programmes at Channel 4, has been appointed as a non-executive director of  Ofcom.

Gardam will work with the media regulator's other directors to set the organisation's strategic direction. His term will last 3 years.

"I am delighted to be joining the Ofcom Board and look forward to contributing to the issues facing consumers and citizens in the converged media world following digital switchover," he said today.

Also appointed to the board is Colette Bowe, the founding chairman of Ofcom's consumer panel. 

Bowe said: "I am delighted to be able to continue my work on behalf of consumers as a member of the Ofcom board."
