| Questions about: Zone 1 Dish (Complete with LNB & Wall mounting Kit) |
| Question: |
|
|
would this dish work stright into a freeview ready tv or does it need a box? also would it work in a low signal area for normal tv? |
Response
If the receiver is built-in to the TV, then there should be no problem linking the two together. An external receiver is no different. If you are in a low signal area, you may want to check wether this dish would be big enough for your needs. Have a word with neighbours, as they will be in the same predicament.
|
| Question: |
|
|
will zone 1 dish work in cowwall |
Response
The further towards the extremities of the UK you go, the weaker the signal becomes, and therefore the larger the dish needed becomes. It is very possible that a Zone 1 dish will suffice, but equally you may need something bigger! My advice would be to have alook at the size of the dishes others in your area are using,a s they will be experiencing the same issues you are set for. Whatever you decisde, we will be happy to supply you

| Question: |
|
|
Will this dish be suitable for my static caravan which is situated in mid wales |
Response
A zone 1 dish should be fine for your needs, although depending on your precise location, you may be safer with a larger dish. Check what dishes your neighbours have, as they will be suffering from whatever reception problems lie ahead for you.

Hello! I am looking to install a Freesat system on my boat and wondered if this Zone 1 Dish would work or which dish would you recommend? Thanks |
Response
The new Freesat servcie requires a satellite dish of at least 48cm to pick up the signal. As a result the Zone 1 dish should be fine.

| Question: |
|
|
We have a sailing boat that we use ot of Falmouth and usually stay local and sometimes go down to the Scillys
because the boat swings at anchor would a dish be usable for a TV with the free view channels built in
thanks

Response
Hi Mike
If you were static in Falmouth, I would be recomending a Zone 2 dish, as there fuurther towards the extremities of the UK you get, the weaker the signal and therefor ehte bigger the dish. As you are drifting, you will not be able to have a fixed dish, and this leads to complications.
We don`t carry motorised dishes at this time, but I would recommend giving Tony Smith Aerials a bell on 07859051721 / 01726 75494 . If you let them know you got their number from DAS they may even look kindly upon you!!!

Can you please tell what kind and size of dish I would need to use in a touring caravan in the UK to be used together with a digital sky + box and what kind of LNB I would need. Thanks. |
Response
If your caravan is not static, the dish required could vary from location to location. I recommend a trip to http://www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk

| Question: |

I want a system that will provide free to air UK Channels (BBC,ITV etc plus Digital tele. if pos.) in my holiday home in SW France. What do I need and how much is it? Which Sat. must I aim for? I've got a French Digital Tele with an aerial at the moment (and don't speak French!).
Thanks.

Response
If you can get a suitable dish pointing at 28.2E, you can get (free) BBC1 regions, BBC2, ITV regions, S4C, BBC3, CBeebies and CBBC without worrying about Sky.
With freesatfromsky you can also get Channels 4 and 5, subject to Sky receiver and Sky viewing card
All the Free to air (no card required) channels are here in light cream colour All the BBCs, all the ITVs and several movie channels and many more

If you are in anyway sceptical about your abilites, iw ould suggest getting a local technician to install it all. There are plenty of ex-pats offering the service. it is much cheaper to buy all the kit over here and install yourself, obviously. But if you want peace of mind....

what size dish would i need and what zone for Paignton Devon |
Response
This map should give you a good idea

It`s probably safest to get a zone 2 dish, given your location. You might be able to get away with a zone 1, but it would be susceptible to weather variations and the like.

| Question: |
|
|
My Sky dish has disappeared, can I replace it with this Zone 1 dish and LNB?
Thanks |
Response
All depends on where you are based David. In theory, yes, but the further you are from the centre of the footprint, the weaker the signal and therefore the bigger the dish need. HAve a look at this map and see where you stand (or sit, really)
