Response
The Hot bird satellite at 13 degrees east has some free-to-air Russian channels; 2 General entertainment channels, Russia Today(news in English - also on Sky), 1sports channel - Planeta Sport, and a musical video offering. There are pay channels also. It all depends on where you are in the country as to what size dish you will need. If you let me know your location, I can put you in touch with a local satellite technician who will be able to advise you more preicsely, or if you ring customer service team direct on 0800 138 3052 and they may be able to get a DAS technican out to you. If you just want the free channels, it would not be expensive. A FTA (free-to-air) receiver is the type you would need. But if you want encrypted (subscription) channels, you would need one with a CAM slot, and a smart card slot, which will be more expensive.
