Hi
I have a pace PVR 2 sky+ box of which the hard drive is beginning to fail.
If i bought the PVR 3 could i just connect the leads etc from my old box to the new PVR 3 |
Response
Hi
Thanks for the email. if you are just replacing the PVR2 with the PVR3 then there is no issue. If you are looking at transfering the information then that is a whole other ball game I`m afraid!
Hope this is good news.

I have just moved into a new house which had Sky, previous owners have left the dish. Can I connect the PVR 3 Sky+ box (or similar) to the dish and receive the 4 Main Channels or Freeview channels, without having to pay a monthly fee to SKY? |
Response
A sky dish cannot be used for reception of terrestrial TV signals. For one thing the frequencies the dish is designed to receive are way different to TV.
Second a dish will have a LNB on it. this picks up the satellite frequencies and converts them down to a different range of frequencies to feed the satellite receiver. So it is tuned to reject anything other than satellite signals (which include terrestrial TV frequencies). Plus it requires a power source. No satellite receiver = no power = no output from LNB.
So the only option is to install a proper TV aerial I`m afraid
